Prep: Soak sunflower seeds 8-12 hours
Ingredients: 1 cup sunflower seeds, 1 tbs. nutritional yeast, 2 tbs. water, 2 tbs. lemon juice, 1 tsp. celtic sea salt 1 tbs. olive oil, garlic powder or granules to taste
Options: Add chopped celery, green onions, dulse flakes, red or green pepper, red onion, raisins, grated carrot, finely chopped herbs like dill, basil, parsley
Directions: Place all ingredients (except garlic) in food processor (S-blade) and process into a paste, stopping occasionally to scrape down the sides with a spatula. Taste to determine if more salt, lemon or nutritional yeast needed. Transfer to mixing bowl and stir in optional items, adding garlic or granules to taste. Serve on lettuce leaves or flax crackers. Pate can be stored for 4-5 days in refrigerator in airtight container.
